Father's House

“Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father’s house
a marketplace.”
JOHN 2:15

The “Cleansing of the Temple” highlights Jesus’ authority and His zeal for the purity of worship. Jesus showed a deep concern for the sanctity and purity of worship. Jesus drove out merchants and money changers from the temple, asserting that they had turned His Father’s house into a marketplace. He is very passionate when it comes to His Father's house. Being passionate about the Lord’s house can mean having a deep respect and reverence for physical places of worship like churches, temples, or synagogues. These places are often considered sacred, where people gather to worship, pray, and learn about their faith. The Lord’s house is also a place for personal spiritual growth. Being passionate about it could mean being committed to learning more about your faith, engaging in prayer and meditation, and striving to live according to the teachings of your religion. It could also mean fostering a sense of community, love, and fellowship among its members.

13 Since the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, as well as the moneychangers seated there. 15 He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the moneychangers and overturned their tables, 16 and to those who sold doves he said, “Take these out of here, and stop making my Father’s house a marketplace.” 17 His disciples recalled the words of Scripture, Zeal for your house will consume me. 18 At this the Jews answered and said to him, “What sign can you show us for doing this?” 19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?” 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body. 22 Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they came to believe the Scripture and the word Jesus had spoken. 23 While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, many began to believe in his name when they saw the signs he was doing. 24 But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all, 25 and did not need anyone to testify about human nature. He himself understood it well. (John 2:13-25)

In the heart of the faithful, a flame does burn, for the Lord's house, they yearn. A passion deep, a love so pure, in His holy presence, they find the cure. The steeple high, the bells that ring, to the Lord's house, their hearts do cling. In prayer, in song, in silent thought, His holy wisdom, they have sought. The Lord's house, a beacon bright, guiding all through the darkest night. A sanctuary, a sacred space filled with His infinite grace. Be passionate, let your spirit soar, in His house, forevermore. With every hymn, with every verse, feel His love, let it immerse. So come all, with hearts ablaze, in the Lord's house, lose your gaze. For in His presence, you'll find no strife, only love, and the true meaning of life.

Dear Heavenly Father, in Your house, we find our home, a sacred place, no matter where we roam. With passion, we seek Your holy face in every corner of Your dwelling place. May our hearts echo with songs of praise and our voices, in worship, we raise for Your house is more than stone and wood, it's a testament of Your eternal good. Help us to honor it, to keep it pure, in Your presence, we are secure. May our actions reflect our love for You in everything we say and do. Guide us, Lord, in Your gentle way, in Your house, may we always stay with passion for Your house, and love in our heart, from Your path, may we never depart. With much love and thanksgiving we pray in Jesus Name, Amen.

The Ten Commandments are a set of biblical principles relating to ethics and worship, playing a fundamental role in Cristianity. They include instructions to worship only God, to honor one’s parents, and to keep the sabbath, as well as prohibitions against idolatry, blasphemy, murder, adultery, theft, dishonesty, and coveting. They provide a moral framework and principles such as not stealing, not killing, and not bearing false witness. These are universally recognized as fundamental to a functioning society. Many legal systems around the world have been influenced by these commandments. Laws against murder, theft, and perjury, for example, can be traced back to the Ten Commandments. These commandments serve as a guide for personal conduct. They are seen as God’s direct command and are therefore taken very seriously. For those of faith, following these commandments is seen as a way to demonstrate their love and devotion to God.

1 In those days, God delivered all these commandments: 2 “I, the Lord, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. 3 You shall not have other gods besides me. 4 You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth; 5 you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the Lord, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers’ wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation; 6 but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain. For the Lord will not leave unpunished him who takes his name in vain. 8 “Remember to keep holy the sabbath day. 9 Six days you may labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you. 11 In six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord has blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. 12 “Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the Lord, your God, is giving you. 13 “You shall not kill. 14 “You shall not commit adultery. 15 “You shall not steal. 16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife nor his male or female slave nor his ox or ass, nor anything else that belongs to him.” (Exodus 20:1-17)

In the realm where right and wrong reside, a place where our deepest values hide. Ethics and morality, our guiding star, shaping who and what we truly are. A compass in the heart, the soul's own song, guiding us when choices come along. To steal or not, to harm or heal, in every act, these forces reveal. In whispers of conscience, loud and clear, in acts of kindness, far and near. In truth told, in promises kept, in silent vigils while others slept. From ancient scripts to modern lore, these truths echo forevermore. In every land, in every age, on life's vast, unfolding stage. Though views may shift, and times may change, the moral core, it stays the same. A beacon through uncertainty in our shared quest for dignity. So here's to ethics, firm and true, the moral compass guiding you. Through stormy seas and paths unknown, in every seed of kindness sown.

Father in heaven, You are the source of all wisdom through Jesus Christ Your Son, my Lord and Savior. Guide us in our quest for truth as we navigate the waters of ethics and morality. Help us discern right from wrong and to act with courage when we know what is right. Teach us to respect one another, to value honesty and integrity, to honor our commitments, and to speak truth. May we strive to be fair and just in all our dealings. Remind us of the dignity of all and the responsibility we bear to one another. Help us to be compassionate and kind to forgive, and to seek forgiveness when we falter. In a world of differing views and beliefs, help us find common ground in our shared humanity. May we learn to appreciate the diversity of ethical paths and to respect the moral journeys of others. In our quest for understanding, may we be guided by love and wisdom, and may our actions reflect the ethics and morality that we seek to understand and live by. In Jesus Name we humbly pray, Amen.

The law of the Lord is perfect, trustworthy, right, clear, pure, and true. The transformative power of God’s laws refreshes the soul, give wisdom, bring joy to the heart, enlighten the eyes, and endure forever. Following the laws of the Lord leads to a fulfilling and righteous life. Adhering to spiritual or religious laws provides a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and direction in our lives. These laws often serve as moral and ethical guidelines that help individuals navigate complex life situations, make decisions that align with their values, and contribute positively to their communities.

8 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul; the decree of the Lord is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple. 9 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the command of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eye. 10 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true, all of them just. 11 They are more precious than gold, than a heap of purest gold; sweeter also than syrup or honey from the comb. (Psalm 19:8, 9, 10, 11)

In the book of life, a sacred verse, a path to follow, in prose and verse. "Follow the laws of the Lord," it's written, a guide to living, divinely smitten. In every word, in every line, a call to love, to forgive, to shine. To honor, respect, to do no harm, in the Lord's laws, find the charm. A fulfilling life, a righteous path, in His laws, find no wrath. In truth, in love, in charity, find the essence of clarity. The laws of the Lord, a beacon bright, guiding us through day and night. In every act, in every deed, His laws fulfill our every need. So walk in faith, in His light, for His laws are pure and right. A fulfilling life, a righteous quest, in the laws of the Lord, we find our rest.

Dear Heavenly Father, we seek Your guidance and Your grace as we strive to follow Your laws in every place. You've shown us the path that leads to light, help us walk it with all our might. Your laws are a lamp unto our feet, a map that makes our journey complete. They lead us to a life fulfilling and true, a righteous path, created by You. Help us to honor, to love, to share, to speak the truth, to show we care. In every thought, in every deed, may we follow Your laws, Your holy creed. When we falter, when we stray, bring us back to Your righteous way. For in Your laws, we find our peace, our strength, our joy, our soul's release. So here we pray, with hearts so bright, "Following Your laws leads to a fulfilling and righteous life." In Jesus name, we find our way, today, tomorrow, every day. Amen.

God’s wisdom surpasses all human understanding. “Christ crucified,” may be a stumbling block or appear foolish to those outside the faith. What may seem foolish or weak in God when compared to human standards is, in fact, wiser and stronger than human wisdom and strength. To those who are called and believe, Christ embodies the power and wisdom of God. Faith in Christ transcends cultural and religious boundaries. The transformative power of faith in Christ challenges the conventional wisdom and expectations of society. View strength, wisdom, and power from a divine perspective rather than a purely human one.

22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. (1 Corinthians 1:22-25)

In the heart's quiet chapel, a light begins to glow, a seed of faith planted, watered, begins to grow. The transformative power, a force so bright, faith in Christ, our guiding light. Through trials and tribulations, through joy and strife, faith weaves its magic, transforming life. A beacon in the darkness, a comfort in the night, in Christ's love, we find our might. The cross, a symbol, of sacrifice divine, in Christ's surrender, does God's love shine. A testament of grace, a testament of love, faith in Christ, a gift from above. The wisdom of the world, in comparison seems small, for faith in Christ, surpasses all. Stronger than our fears, wiser than our plans, in Christ's embrace, the soul expands. So here's to faith, transformative and pure, in Christ's love, we find the cure for every wound, for every tear, in faith, we find God near.

Dear Lord, in Your presence, we find our strength, in Your wisdom, our paths are length. Through faith in Christ, our hearts ignite, transforming darkness into light. In trials and tribulations, in joy and in strife, Your love guides us through the journey of life. With every step, with every breath, we feel Your love, even in death. Christ, our Savior, our guiding star, Your sacrifice, seen near and far. A testament of love, a beacon so bright, in Your resurrection, we find our might. The transformative power of faith so pure, in Your grace, we find the cure for every wound, for every tear, in faith, we find You near. So here we pray, with hearts so light, "Transform us with Your holy might." In Your name, we find our way today, tomorrow, every day. Amen.
